Meet Tammie

Tammie Boyte, RN a dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of nursing, embarked on her journey in healthcare with a commitment to excellence that has spanned nearly four decades. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1982, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), and from that point forward, her career has been marked by passion, leadership, and an unwavering dedication to patient care.

Over the course of her 38-year career as a registered nurse, Tammie made impactful contributions across various healthcare settings. Beginning on the Medical Surgical floor in a hospital, she gained valuable experience and laid the foundation for a career characterized by versatility and expertise.

Tammie's career trajectory included pivotal roles in Regional Staff Development, Infection Control, and Performance Improvement Coordination for a multi-county home health care agency. Her commitment to improving healthcare quality and outcomes was evident in her role as a Regional Administrator, where she oversaw the operations of five home health care offices in middle Tennessee for over 15 years.

With a wealth of experience, Tammie also served in the field of Same Day Surgery for more than 15 years, contributing her expertise to both stand-alone and hospital-based surgery centers. Her responsibilities encompassed preoperative, pre-admission testing, and the recovery room (PACU), showcasing her proficiency in managing various facets of surgical care.

Beyond her professional achievements, Tammie has actively engaged in community service as a board member and Treasurer for Coffee Cares and board member for DAVA, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact beyond the healthcare setting.

In her well-deserved retirement since 2020, Tammie has found joy and fulfillment in various pursuits. She is an avid home builder and decorator, having crafted and adorned four personal homes, and she cherishes time with her husband, three children, and five grandchildren, often spoiling them with her skillful baking and cake decorating. Tammie's zest for life includes running, with an impressive track record of completing 13 marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon in 2016. She maintains an active lifestyle through weight workouts and fitness classes, and she finds solace in tending to her yard. Her love for adventure is evident in her passion for travel and reading. As a proud supporter of Tennessee sports, Tammie cheers for both the Volunteers and the Titans, and her culinary talents shine through her love for cooking and entertaining.
